Daylight-saving
time legislation and the Alerton Energy Management System
Day Light Savings
In March 2007, Daylight-saving
time (DST) provisions of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 go into effect.
The DST starting and ending dates for most of the United
States and Canada will change. These changes
can affect how the Alerton Software operates if not adjusted. Please
follow the steps below to ensure that your Alerton Energy Management
System is updated properly.
BACtalk global controller
and computer
BACtalk global controllers
have DST disabled by default. If DST has been user-enabled in a controller,
adjust the DST manually. For computers that do not have access to
the internet or to Microsoft updates for DST you will need to disable
the computers automatic DST setting and manually input the new DST
dates then sync this with the Alerton software.
To disable the Automatic
DST Setting:
1.
Select the Microsoft
“Start” Menu
2.
Select Control Panel
3.
Select Date &
Time
4.
Select the Time Zone
tab
5.
uncheck the box that
reads “Automatically adjust for daylight saving changes”
6.
Select OK
To manually set the new
DST dates (note this should be performed on the day of the DST change
over):
1.
Select the Microsoft
“Start” Menu
2.
Select Control Panel
3.
Select Date &
Time
4.

In the list of devices, select the device profile (also known
as the device instance i.e. 201, 202) you want to change.
3.
Click Send
(Send will take data from the Envision for BACtalk server hard disk
and send it to the controller. Save will retrieve files from the controller
and save it to the Envision for BACtalk server hard disk.)
4.
Select the check boxes for Time Sync
5.
Click Send.
6.
Then Close
7.
Do this for each global controller you have (BTI, BCM, VLX, LSi)

IBEX
