Four Kaiser Permanente Buildings

This new medical center campus is a 637,000-square-foot, 150-bed state-of-the-art medical facility. It includes a 340,000-square-foot hospital and a 297,000-square-foot medical office building. The hospital is structured into two separate four-level nursing towers which are connected by a four-level diagnostic and treatment section of the hospital, of which one level is below grade.

In addition to medical-surgical and intensive care unit beds, the hospital has prenatal services, including eight delivery rooms. Work also includes an emergency department and full imaging services with CT scanner, nuclear medicine and MRI. This medical center has 12 operating rooms, six in-patient and six in the ambulatory surgery center within in the medical office building.

The Central Utility Plant provides heating and cooling to the new facilities, and has been sized to accommodate future expansion. The cooling system includes two 1000 ton electric chillers, one 830 ton natural gas chiller and, five cooling towers. The heating system includes five hot water boilers.The process systems include two steam boilers, Bulk Gas storage / distribution and medical gas systems. The BAS System also provides monitoring of building power consumption and electrical system status, including integration to the two, 2000 kw emergency generators and their associated fuel/oil systems.

The Alerton Building Automation System consists of approximately 1,100 DDC Controllers providing control and monitoring of the following critical facility infrastructure:
