Built in 1904, this landmark building is a 1,200,000 square foot hotel located in downtown San Francisco, CA. The historic, luxury hotel consists of two buildings; a 12-story main building and a 32-story tower built as an addition in 1971. The hotel offers 1,253 guestrooms, multiple amenities including a spa and fitness center, four restaurants, and a subterranean parking garage. There are 34 meeting rooms and ballrooms totaling over 56,000 square feet.

Facing rising energy bills, inefficient manually run air handlers, and a failing Building Automation System, the Westin St. Francis turned to Syserco to design and implement a modern open protocol solution to reduce energy consumption, improve guest experience, and meet their strict ROI criteria.

The new Alerton Energy Management System installed by Syserco drastically reduced energy bills and provided the facilities team a tool to better manage the property and service their guests. This retrofit of an occupied, historic building occurred over a 6-month time frame and leveraged PG&E incentives to deliver over 600,000kWh in energy savings with a 2.6-year simple payback, while drastically improving the guest experience.
