Syserco Midwest - Valley View School District

K12 School

Bolingbrook, IL

Renovation

1 Building(s) 70,000 sq. ft.

Valley View SD Jamie McGee Elementary School

The Valley View School District’s McGee School had outdated, inefficient, and difficult to use mechanical systems that were contributing to not only operational issues, but also fiscally impacting the District. The District chose to partner with Syserco Midwest to update the infrastructure based on their existing, trusted relationship.

Syserco Midwest performed work on this project together with Midwest Mechanical as part of a cooperative in which the District specified Syserco Midwest as the controls vendor. The cooperative also allowed for a design-build process which gave Valley View the opportunity to customize the project to their needs. Syserco facilitated the process of documenting the project, allowing Valley View to take advantage of Com Ed financial incentives, making the project more fiscally feasible for the District.

The renovated Jamie McGee facility includes the upgrade of all HVAC equipment and controls within the school. The system is networked to a centralized server along with the remaining District schools, all integrated and controlled by Syserco Midwest to allow for smooth operation, maintenance, and communication.

The office, classroom, gym and hall areas are heated and cooled by new DX RTU’s, chiller and central boiler plants. The Syserco Midwest installed Alerton Compass system is designed to allow for future expansion should the District need it. Systems were upgraded from multizone systems and VAV applications have provided more advanced individual area control. These upgrades, together with the Syserco Midwest engineered energy programs, offer the District significant energy savings.

The Syserco-installed Building Automation System consists of approximately (64) controllers and Alerton Compass Enterprise system providing advanced control and monitoring.
